The versatility of the ContiChrom platform is based on the offering of high performance   Bioprocess solutions for all stages in development and manufacturing. For the early stage development up to initial clinical trials, the benchtop-scale Contichrom unit allows to rapidly develop DSP processes and to develop a suitable product profile with specifications. Importantly the pilot-scale ContiChrom unit used for production of API for clinical trials retains the process parameters and product profile from the previous scale streamlining the development while developing an economic production process. The ContiChrom units are unique in allowing the development of different processes, such as batch, simulated moving bed (SMB) or continuous (MCSGP). The equipment can be operated as low-pressure liquid chromatography to HPLC conditions. The ContiChrom pilot and production unit can be customized to incorporate additional requirements (explosion-proof solvent usage, column and buffer cooling, multi-column setup allowing to simultaneous fractionation of several products). Thus the ContiChrom platform offers process solutions for a wide range of different APIs such as polynucleotides, fatty acids, peptides and proteins.
