This Privacy Statement tells you how we protect and use information that the company gathers through this ChromaCon website based in Switzerland. This website and this Privacy Statement are intended for the global audience. Please read this privacy statement carefully.

This Privacy Statement was significantly expanded on May 21, 2018, based on ChromaCon’s previous Legal Notices, to respect the principles of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) about privacy. Information collection

ChromaCon collects “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information”.

Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you. This website uses the web analytics services Google Analytics from Google. Google Analytics places short pieces of data or a text file on your computer (e.g. cookies, web beacons) for collecting data, which serve to evaluate usage and interaction with this website. ChromaCon reviews the anonymous aggregated data it receives from Google Analytics only to analyze traffic for improving this website and/or improving marketing. ChromaCon does not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Personal Information includes your name, location, e-mail as requested in the ChromaCon Contact & Quote Forms, which you submit to us through this website. Personal Information also includes your name, location, e-mail which you have provided to ChromaCon, either directly in conferences, trade shows or other direct contacts, or indirectly in that you have provided your contact details to professional social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Xing and/or others. Please note that providing personal information to ChromaCon or sharing personal information electronically to a common contact is voluntary on your part. If you choose not to provide to us certain information, we may not be able to offer to you certain services and/or products.

Our use of cookies and cookie consent

Our website uses web analytics services, Google Analytics, from Google, and thereby uses cookies. How ChromaCon uses personal information

ChromaCon may anonymize personal information and use it for the purpose described above and other purposes to the extent permitted by applicable law, and may use this information for additional purposes that ChromaCon identifies at the time of collection. ChromaCon will obtain your consent for these additional uses, as required by applicable law.

Does ChromaCon ever share personal information with third parties?

ChromaCon will not share your personal information it collects with an unrelated third party without your permission, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Statement.

In the ordinary course of business, ChromaCon will share some personal information with companies that it hires to provide the products you ordered and execute services and training on your behalf. For example, ChromaCon may use different providers to ship products that you ordered, or we may use distribution partners and/or technical hub providers to execute preventive maintenance on the products you ordered and/or supply spare parts. When ChromaCon shares your personal information with a third party, it will not authorize this third party to keep, disclose and/or use your information with others, except for the purpose of providing products, services and/or support related to ChromaCon’s products, services and/or related to upgrade products and/or services.

ChromaCon will not sell, exchange or publish your personal information, except in conjunction with a corporate sale, merger, dissolution, or acquisition.

ChromaCon may disclose your personal information to third parties, if we feel that the disclosure is necessary to enforce this privacy statement and/or other terms of this website, protect our rights and property, protect someone’s safety or welfare, and comply with law, court order and/or other legal processes.

Our legal basis for collecting and processing personal data

ChromaCon’s legal basis for processing your personal information will be typically your consent, and/or performance of a contract or to take steps to enter into a contract with you. ChromaCon’s legal basis for processing your personal information will also take steps to enter into a contract with a relevant party on behalf of your business interests, such as ChromaCon’s partner for upgrading to GMP grade equipment, LEWA Bioprocess Group, Devens, MA 01434, USA.

Further, ChromaCon’s legal basis for processing your personal information will include maintaining our legitimate business interests, and/or preventing unlawful activity.

What about website security?

Security is important to us, and we understand that security is important to you. ChromaCon takes reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. You should keep in mind that no internet transmission is ever 100% secure or error-free. In particular, e-mail sent via this site may not be secure, and you should take special care in deciding which information to share with us via e-mail.

Your right of choices

In conjunction with the personal information ChromaCon obtains about you, you have the right (1) to get confirmation that your personal data is being processed and have the ability to access your personal data, (2) to request that ChromaCon corrects or updates your data if it is incorrect or incomplete, or (3) to request to get your personal data that you provided to us and use it for your own purpose. ChromaCon will provide your data to you within 30 days of your request. To protect your privacy, ChromaCon may take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to the information. Depending on your location, you have the right to file a complaint with supervisory authorities, if your information has not been processed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Additional information – notice to California residents

Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, customers and users of ChromaCon who are California residents are permitted to ask to provide to them firstly, a listing of certain categories of personal information ChromaCon has disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, and secondly, the identity of those third parties. Protecting children’s privacy

ChromaCon cares about protecting the online privacy of children. Even though our website is not designed for the use by anyone under the age of 16, ChromaCon realizes that a child under the age of 16 may attempt to access our website. We will not intentionally collect any personal information from a child under the age of 16, such as a child’s name or Email address.
