October 10, 2017 Prof. Morbidelli awarded with AIChE award for Excellence in Process Development Research

Zurich / New Orleans, 10.10.2017.

Prof. Massimo Morbidelli, co-founder of ChromaCon and professor at ETH Zurich, is the recipient of the 2017 award for Excellence in Process Development Research. The prize is sponsored by Pfizer and awarded by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) to recognize “individuals who have made significant technical contributions to the advancement of process development within research, teaching, or regulatory activities”. Prof. Morbidelli has advanced the field of biomanufacturing with research towards continuous and integrated processing solutions. These techniques greatly increase the efficiency of production processes and thus help to drive down production costs for biopharmaceuticals. Many of the innovations that came out of his lab, including MCSGP and CaptureSMB, are today marketed by ChromaCon and its scale-up partner LEWA.
